For the third year in a row Melbourne will open their season at the MCG against the Western Bulldogs – though this time there is no premiership flag to unfurl. Both teams were disappointed with their 2023 seasons and are looking to bounce back in 2024.

The Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG), also known as “The ‘G”, is located in Yarra Park, Melbourne, Victoria. Run by the Melbourne Cricket Club, it is the largest stadium in the Southern Hemisphere, the 11th largest in the world, and the second largest cricket ground.

Since it was built in 1853, the MCG has had many Grandstands come and go. It was the main stadium of the 1956 Olympic Games, the 2006 Commonwealth Games and three Cricket World Cups, 50 overs in 1992 and 2015 and recently the 2022 20/20 event.

The AFL Fixture is subject to change without notice. All times listed are local time.
